Max Verstappen has taken pole position for the British Grand Prix, beating Ferrari's Charles Leclerc to take his first pole of the 2023 season.

The Dutchman finished ahead of Leclerc and Mercedes' George Russell, who completed the top three.

It was a dramatic qualifying session, with the track drying out after heavy rain earlier in the day.

Verstappen was able to make the most of the conditions, setting a time of 1:27.901 on his final lap.

Leclerc was just 0.075 seconds behind, while Russell was a further 0.148 seconds back.

The result means that Verstappen will start from pole position for the British Grand Prix for the first time in his career.
